Finn playing his Piano 8 months old today!

Please excuse the crying baby in the background. There is much teething going at our house. Finn is in his toy box, which is also an excellent drum, and also a car (when Dad or Mom pushes him around). He loves that piano! I haven't captured his most virtuosic performance, but you get the general idea.

Olivia Jumping 8 months old today!

Aquarium with Katrin and Arran

We went to the aquarium with Katrin and Arran. Arran is 3 months older than the twins. He has the cutest little dimples low on his cheeks. It was busy, but I got a pass for the year so i hope next time we go I'll be more relaxed. Maybe next time we can go with Elin and Axel! The twins didn't pay much attention to the fishies or birds or whales, but they did have fun making faces at the sweet old ladies who smiled and cooed at them.

It Worked!

Our "little miss" Olivia is now 15.5 pounds! Actually 15 pounds and 10 ounces.  We are so glad that all of our efforts have paid off. She's still a slim girl, but that's just her natural shape. She is able to eat and drink as she likes, due mainly to her laser revision of that tongue-tie and lip-tie. We went to countless appointments and felt like we were hitting our heads against a brick wall made up of doctors. We can now breathe easy. Finn is 19 pounds. 

In Finn news, he has been saying ba ba ba for a while, but yesterday added ma ma ma! I have a feeling ga ga ga is coming soon, because I've heard him make that sound a few times.

In more Olivia news, she now has 3 teeth! Finn has 2, and there are more for both just around the corner.

We had Mexican Pizza yesterday. Like a taco, but on a pizza, wow, blows my mind. It was delicious. Here's a picture of the pizza.

I know, I know, I have a serious problem with taking photos of them eating. I'm seeking a support group. It's out of control.

Is this a solution to trying to choose just one picture from a million? I think so.

Update - Milestones - 7 months 10 days

• Both laugh, although Finn still laughs more often, Finn's is more of a true laugh, Olivia's is more breathy
• Both smile
• Olivia's milk drinking is much improved, she can drink a whole bottle fast, she never did that, and was always very very slow before the laser surgery
• Olivia doesn't need much bedtime ritual. she has it, but doesn't need much help. She goes to sleep easily and stays asleep most nights
• Finn slept through the night for a week or two, but wakes up once or twice a night, lately, but improving (with help from grandparents)
• Olivia can almost crawl - she does like an army crawl (see video) but she can get wherever she needs to go (so we need to baby proof now)
• Olivia can turn over both ways
• Finn can turn over both ways, but rarely does 
• His last head measurement - he was in the 99.9th percentile so he's very top heavy
• Olivia can sometimes sit up on her own from lying down
•  Finn can sit up for short periods, but does topple over
• Olivia sits for long periods
• Finn's legs seem longer now
• they both eat solids
• Finn's hand to mouth action and coordination is much better
• Finn packs his mouth full and then slowly lets the food fall out of his mouth
• Olivia has been a better eater (coordination and chewing and swallowing) from the beginning
• They have at least one solid meal per day
• They have both gone "swimming"
• They both flap a lot, like baby birds (Olivia does this more)
• They both like to hit things with their hands or with objects (Finn does this more)
• They both put everything in their mouths
• Olivia used to cry when surprised, and is now able to enjoy it
• Finn always thought that was funny (boo!)
• They both LOVE the remote control and the breast pump
• They both love outings
• They sometimes look a bit nervous when they see people who they don't see every day, or new people
• They recognize voices
• They are fascinated by the animals in the house
• They get really focused on each other now, and are interested in entertaining the other
• they talk to each other in twinspeak (this is rare)
• They perform for the camera, it can be harder to get them natural on tape, because they are starting to ham it up
• hand and finger dexterity is improving, Olivia's is better
• Olivia loves veggies
• Finn loves fruit
• they both love meat
• they play with various toys on the floor every day
• they go in the "Intellitainer" and the "Jumperoo" every day
• the swings are out of use
• They both have two bottom teeth!
• They have nap at 10am, 2pm, and they go to bed between 7 and 8pm and wake up around 7am
• they both say things like Ba Ba, but nothing meaningful

Olivia Went Swimming!

Olivia and I went to the warm teaching pool. She is so interested in mastering physical challenges. She was very focused while she was in there. She was also watching everyone. The other people there were Chinese families with 4 or 5 2.5 - 4 year old girls. The girls were fascinated back at Olivia. Most of the parents or grandparents couldn't speak much English. Olivia enjoyed floating around and I pulled her through the water in different positions. She loved splashing the water on the edge of the pool. She grabbed on to the pool noodle and tried to eat it. ! Finn was more excited and smiley and enjoyed splashing the water in the pool, rather than the edge. I'm going to need to get a new swim diaper soon. I can't wait to go back with one of the twins
