Christmas (Eve) 2013

I really wish I had taken more pictures. We have no pictures of them opening presents, or of the extended family. But after this family picture disaster I think I was so frustrated! The flash was too low, and the kids were squirming, and my father was doing the long count. One - pause - Two - pause - Three - pause - Click. By that time our faces were a stale version of a real smile. Oh, well, you get the idea! The kids loved their presents and despite tiredness, it was out first real Christmas together (last year they were really mostly oblivious). I got to see the looks of delight and surprises on their faces when they opened their presents was the best part.

I took a million pictures trying to capture the fact that Olivia's hair was standing straight up, in a dome around her head, like that exhibit at Science World.

Hi Y'all,

I finished my course! My first uni course in years. I am so relieved. I'm not going to do a course that is 3 days a week again, not unless I'm already going to UBC full-time. I feel like a weight has lifted off me. And I think I did well too!

But don't expect on-time Christmas cards unless a miracle happens:)
